JUSTICE–In ever loving memory of Molly who was taken from us… 78 years ago today, 18th January. Gone but will never be forgotten.

‘In ever loving memory of Molly Justice, January 18, 1943.’

But then a mysterious veil of silence descended over the case. There was speculation that a prominent British Columbia family was involved and that ‘politics’ were covering up for them.
He identified the killer as Frank Pepler, who was 15 at the time of the murder and stepson to Eric Pepler, British Columbia attorney-general for 20 years who, he charged, had intervened personally in the murder case

“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it,”
    George Santayana

This is why we join Jeff Buziak in the fight for JUSTICE for Lindsay. We are not going to accept that police and politicians think we will forget about Lindsay and that her murder will fade into the oblivion that Molly Justice’s did.
Why have the SAANICH POLICE DEPARTMENT not stated the truth in Molly Justice’s murder? This is not going to be Lindsay’s story. The public deserve the truth and we expect it.

That was really hard to read and yes Lindsay’s brutal murder will not be like Molly Justice. There will be Justice for both. 1943 wow. What a long time of corruption. Sickening.

A word from the Chief Constable of Saanich police:

“I am both honoured and humbled to be appointed the 17th Chief Constable of the Saanich Police Department, and will work hard to continue our legacy of Keeping Saanich Safe; a legacy that dates back to our humble beginnings in 1906.”

    Chief Scott Green

Okay let’s get real here Chief. Legacy of Keeping Saanich Safe? A legacy that dates back to 1906? You have a university degree or two sir. I’m very concerned with your mental health Chief. In case you are not aware sir, murder is currently allowed in Saanich under your Chiefdom. Allow me to gently nudge your memory and remind you that on the late afternoon of February 2, 2008 a wonderful aspiring young female realtor working for ReMax Camosun Real Estate of Saanich named Lindsay Buziak was savagely murdered while at work IN SAANICH the very day after 7 of your esteemed senior colleagues and good friends retired from the Saanich police force. Not one was called back to assist in the investigation. Shockingly, Lindsay’s murder has remained unsolved for 13 years and the conspirators and killers of Lindsay Buziak walk freely in the community of Saanich as they feel under your command sir! There is no legacy.

The legacy of a safe Saanich you speak about ended abruptly that late afternoon in February, 2008 when over forty stabs of a knife were savagely inflicted into Lindsay’s petite body and the following days, weeks, months and now 13 years Saanich police, you, and the 3 chief Constables before you have fiddled around with Lindsay’s so-called murder investigation with zero results. There is no more Legacy Chief Green. Saanich is not a safe place Chief Green. There are killers and conspirators amongst the citizens of Saanich Chief Green. Please pull yourself out of your delusional state and seek help. Or sir, continue in that happy place in your mind but turn over the Lindsay Buziak murder file to a more competent agency interested in and capable of solving Lindsay’s heinous murder, making arrests, seeing charges laid and making Saanich safe again. Until that time, Saanich BC is clearly not safe. Murder is allowed in Saanich by the very police department you are in full command of! Yes I am fully aware that on paper murder is against the law in Canada but obviously after the 13 years since Lindsay was murdered that means nothing because you are allowing murder to go unenforced by law in Saanich Chief Scott Green. In case you have forgot Chief Green, you took an oath to uphold the law.
    Happy New Year Chief Green

I have a strong feeling that if you do not already know what was in Lindsay’s stomach at the time she was murdered, that as a family member (you) can request a copy of the autopsy report. The coroners office will say they can’t give it to you because the file is open. But at that point you can request an inquest into the matter. If this is something that has not already been tried, here is a link to their website https://www.justice.gov.nt.ca/en/death-investigations/ which includes contact information. I pulled this from the website because this a way. “An inquest may be held to inform the public of the circumstances of the death where it will serve some public purpose; to bring dangerous practices or conditions to the knowledge of the public and facilitate the making of recommendations to avoid preventable deaths.” to argue for the document. Usually they are looking for tainted meats or something but in Lindsay’s case you can make the argument that the one person who was with her before, during and after her eating is still at large- so the absence of food in the stomach means the person at large is a danger to society (because Jason potentially lied about going to Sauce and if that was a lie, everything else he says is too). It’s an angle. Try it. This is a video about digestion. https://youtu.be/tVqovvh392g

      • Dennis says:

Inquests are not available for application from the public or victims of crime. And the food content in Lindsay’s stomach holds little to no value as there are likely plenty of witnesses (staff/waitress) who are credible to provide the time/content of consumption. I fail to see your connection to the stomach digestion as a means to the murderer.

        • OceanWaves says:

Well Mr. D. we have a difference of opinion. It does help Lindsay’s murder to be solved. Because of the timing issue. If the stomach is full then Jason’s story about eating at Sauce is plausible. If the stomach is empty then Jason’s story about eating at Sauce has failed.
According to the video link I posted from Youtube, it takes many hours and even days for certain foods to digest. When Jason was interviewed by police and said he and Lindsay had been at Sauce, a (coughs) competent police officer would have asked “What did she eat”? .
Because the murder was so close to the time they supposedly ate, that food would have still been in her stomach. Jason says they had steak (I am making this up) for example, but there is no food in Lindsay’s stomach or digestive tract then we know Sauce (and the Steak) is a complete lie. On the other hand, if Jason said Lindsay had a turkey sandwich and there is still one in her system, Jason’s story at least where eating is concerned, matches up.
Not having been to Victoria, I am guessing again that February is low season for tourists so therefore the restaurant (where in Feb 2008 was located by the Warf) is not as full at that time of day as you think it was.
As for the coroners office not cooperating, they still have a duty to respond to inquiries from family. Not making an attempt is a failure because not making an attempt does not bring us closer to the truth. Therefore, make the attempt. I never read on this website or other content/ podcasts/videos where it said a credible waitress or waiter supported Jason’s story.
The police are not saying how that Sauce story is supported. They could have accepted a credit card receipt from Jason, an eye witness or just took Jason’s word for it. Lindsay’s stomach and digestive system will be the ultimate proof on that one. How do we even know there was a coroners report that included her digestive system and stomach contents and not just knife wounds? Let’s start there…
Let’s start there because if Jason said she ate a turkey sandwich and there was a turkey sandwich in her stomach, but we look at the old Sauce menu and discover there is no turkey sandwich on the Sauce menu, then being there at Sauce is still a lie. News: Jason and Lindsay went to Sauce. Fact: what is in or not in Lindsay’s stomach when she died? Not letting this one go. Standing firmly on this conviction.

        • micheal says:

Odd how some pick and choose what witnesses statements they will trust and believe. For example one may say the witnesses who say they saw what looked like a female meeting 2 people in drive way are lieing, or the police are lieing and these winesses dont really exist,
but will believe what the police say possible witnesses at Sauce say.
The food in stomach is actually an interesting suggestion. As for those who say that information cant be released due to active investigation, i believe the commenter was aware that is the case and they were suggesting a loop whole to get around it.
Man if Jeff could show that Jason lied about that and the police are hiding they know he lied about it due to autopsy results that could very well be the one thing that leads to someone in higher authority saying this charade of investigation need to end and be given to a real department.

Where were the Zailo’s when Dr. Phil was doing this show? People who aren’t guilty would jump at the chance to prove they are innocent on this show. They all should have let his guy do a poly not a play one that no one can verify. So sketchy and telling. The Zailo’s scream guilty. Jason must really struggle with sleep at night. I hope Lindsay haunts them every night.

One woman to her father: If boyfriend #1- Matt- admitted they fought, then fighting happened #2-Jason. That girl did not hit Matt, she was defending herself against him. I’ve figuratively dated both of those guys in the past. Steroid rage is real. Rage from breaks in patterns of Marijuana smoking is real. Alcohol abuse amongst young men, even professional men with micro-managing moms, is real. Different face, same fist. Independent women, no one would ever suspect that you were getting the crap beat out of you on a regular basis. We don’t tell anyone. Not even our best friends. Not even our closest parent. Not a soul. We hold our heads high and try to move on. We don’t want to be seen as weak or helpless in any way. We may drop hints now and again but brush them off quickly if someone tries to probe further. It’s the embarrassment. It’s the comments like “oh you must have done something he didn’t like” or “don’t you love him?” and “he can’t be like that. Really?” and the worst one asking us to “just stop bossing him around or stop nagging him”. We keep telling ourselves that the guy will come around because he’s young and maybe he’ll grow out of it. That guy never does. Jason would have been under extreme pressure to do well. He had to save face to his mother and brother. Likewise with Ryan Zailo. If one or more Zailo’s found out Lindsay was talking to Matt while out of town, they would consider that disrespectful to the entire family. I’ve never seen an arrest record for Cohen Oatman. It would be interesting to know if any of his girlfriends or spouse called in a domestic violence (DV) complaint on him. If you had DV complaint on you, you could be making excuses for your friend Jason’s behavior in addition to your own.

Time for police to go public. RELEASE EVERYTHING. Too many years have gone by.

Doing this could actually benefit the case EVEN IF they blundered. The public can help. There were cases solved by doing this. Where does Capital Daily stand with their file request?

What are you waiting for Saanich city? For what purpose is this hoarding? What will you gain
besides dusty files, by letting all these years pass and one by one everyone retires. This was a murder, a life cruelly taken away, not a secret cake recipe!

  3. Mark Roush says:

In response to Robin. We all know that Lindsay’s case need’s to be re-opened by competent Investigators and ALL of the Collected evidence need’s to be re-investigated and re-examined. I am Implying that, once this is done, it will be proven that Lindsay was murdered elsewhere !!! I Personally believe that Lindsay was murdered at the SHC detail Shop and Transported to 1702 desousa pl. address for the murderer and her Conspirator’s to STAGE a crime scene there. Jason Zailo spent approximately 25minutes with Lindsay at the sauce restaurant for a “late lunch”, (Eating had Absolutely nothing to do with the TRUE reason why Jason met Lindsay at the sauce restaurant.) But Jason Zailo Spent 1 hour inside the SHC detail Shop ! WHY ??? Because His Mother Shirley was waiting there for him to arrive to Murder Lindsay !!! Shirley Zailo murdered Lindsay for two reasons. Her 1st reason was Lindsay had Information into the Zailo’s Crime Family and the 2nd reason was Lindsay was going to be Ending her relationship with Jason. Shirley Zailo is an EVIL Woman and inside her EVIL mind, She was ENRAGED at the thought of Lindsay ending her Relationship with her Son, She had thoughts of AFTER ALL I’VE DONE FOR YOU LINDSAY, You want to leave my Son !!! Shirley Murdered Lindsay at the Sauce Restaurant, Stabbing Lindsay 40+ times. Shirley focused on Lindsay’s Breast, Why??? Because Shirley or Her Son Jason Paid for the Implant Surgery !!! This was a FRENZIED Attack upon Lindsay by Shirley Zailo. Period.

    • Robin says:

It seems to me everything could happen right at de Sousa Pl. and give them total access prior to 02Feb. Why make complicated by moving and driving to another location?

    • Rosanne says:

Do you find it odd that Jason got a Lawyer but not security? I have not read one thing that said how close he came to being a victim too. Mr Horsley said a few minutes later driving up he would have seen the killers. If he had done what he was asked to do and had been on time, he would have been on the floor of the upstairs bedroom also. I keep seeing “murder for hire” mentioned, directed and intended for Lindsay. It does and it doesn’t have elements of a professional hit but if it had been done by strangers a certain family didn’t seem terrified, threatened or even concerned. Mom even took a walk alone with Lindsay the day before, wouldn’t she have even thought of the danger she would have been in ? This was made to look like Lindsay had something the killers didn’t want her saying, wouldn’t these killers’ suspect she may have told her boyfriend and surely their ears must have perked up hearing about the private walk?

      • Dennis says:

“Mom even took a walk alone with Lindsay the day before,”
“surely their ears must have perked up hearing about the private walk?”

There was no “walk!” That story was made up by SZ, no one credible to attest to this statement and I’m pretty sure Ms. Lindsay did not have this type of “relationship” with SZ.

Not quite sure what you’re attempting to explain here. Are you suggesting JZ would have had a “security” vs “lawyer” issue had he NOT been suspected of conspiracy to commit MURDER?

        • Mark Roush says:

Isn’t it even “ODDER” that on Dateline, Jason FUMBLED when Josh Mankiewicz asked him what he saw ? Compare Jason’s statement to that of Chris Horsley’s statements on crime watch daily with Ana Garcia. ” The killers were actually about to walk out the front door and leave, and he turned into the culdesac and interrupted them leaving, if he would have been 5 seconds later he would have driven right into the suspect’s walking out here in the driveway.” Two Entirely CONFLICTING Statements that has me Highly Suspicious of Horsely in that Horsley quite possibly was involved with the Zailos crime family……It has been COMMON KNOWLEDGE that the ONLY car in the driveway was Lindsay’s, So why the Illogical statement “The suspects walking out here in the driveway ? Why would Suspects walk out to an EMPTY driveway ?

        • Rosanne says:

Simple, someone went to a lot of bother to quiet Lindsay. If she had talked to anyone, wouldn’t her boyfriend be the most likely person she would have talked to? If the murderer went to such extremes to keep her quiet, wouldn’t Jason have been their next ticking time bomb? Does it make sense to kill her in a senseless murder and not take out anyone and everyone who may have been exposed to this deadly secret? Put it this way if Jason had been killed over some secret Lindsay would have no way of knowing if she would be the next one the murders came after just as insurance to make sure they were completely safe. Instead of a safe house and security Jason got a lawyer to ‘ protect’ him. Ending up dead is a whole lot worse that being charged in my opinion.

          • ConnectTheDots says:

            Very good point.

          • Dennis says:

Lindsay was not killed to achieve “quietness” and she certainly would not confide in steroid/drug boy because their “relationship” was to end soon, no confidence there. And the rest of your explanation is not articulated well, Jason is NOT dead and there is no evidence to suggest he would be a target for murder although he clearly has conspired to murdering Lindsay. I simply do not understand what you are attempting to suggest.

            • ConnectTheDots says:

She is pointing out that if the Zailo family is innocent they would be in extreme danger given that they are probably privy to what ever it was that drove the murderers to commit this heinous murder. I think it is a very good point and you see no concern from this from the Zailo family. I think that is because they know they are not in danger.

            • Rosanne says:

Doesn’t it strike you that too many people, examples Jason, his Mom going toward a murder scene that night, and Saanich police knew they were safe and here it is 13 years later and everyone else is still in the dark and unsafe. From what we actually know, the murders still walk among us. Nobody seems to even know who they are or if anyone does they are being protected from the public and not the other way around. Jason got a lawyer but did any of that small group ramp up their security? Jason felt a need to protect himself from police interrogation but not from free roaming murderers who hit as close to him as possible. The police want to protect “their” case and tell Lindsay’s father to quit pushing for justice. As members of the public, in my opinion shouldn’t we all feel that confident that this was such an isolated incident and never has the possibility of happening again?

              • lbmurder says:

No. If you had a child molester living next door to your family would you feel your children were safe because some police officer said it was an isolated incident. They don’t know anything more about human behaviour than a truck driver or a plumber or an accountant. Most of them became police officers when they were young men and learned about laws, handcuffing people, scoring chicks because they wear a uniform and giving speeding tickets. Psychologist specializing in human behaviour tell us whether people repeat behaviours and the general consensus amongst them is killers left without psychological rehabilitation have a very high propensity to repeat the same behaviour. Even with extensive voluntary rehabilitation their chances of repeating are higher than normal. Without arrests in Lindsay Buziak’s murder, there are very dangerous people responsible living amongst the people in Victoria, BC who are highly likely to kill again if they have not already done so.

          • see closely says:

The fact being is that the murderer/s sole interest was killing Lindsay. No other interest there that we know about- expect possibly a message to somebody.

        • Micheal says:

I think her point was simply that their complete lack of fear, and lack of even pretending they are/were afraid is further evidence they know how and why Lindsay was murdered. They were willing to protect themselves legally but not physically. This is an odd response from a person who is claiming they have no idea why someone very close to them and their business was murdered . Someone they are telling the world went on a walk with just the night before and had a conversation.
Weather or not there truly was a walk with Shirly the day before is irrelevant to the point Roseanne was making. The relevant part would be Shirly saying to the world this walk happend.
So if Shirly was not involved and had no idea why Lindsay was killed one would think she would say to herself, perhaps Lindsay was killed over something she knew, and i just told the world i had a walk and conversation with her and these people who killed her may think I now know this information.
So I think she is saying if JZ and SZ did not know how and why Lindsay was killed they would protect their well being before or at least along with their legal well being.

    • Mark Roush says:

Typographical Error. It should not read Shirley murdered Lindsay at the sauce restaurant, The Correct Read is Shirley murdered Lindsay at the SHC detail Shop.

    • Svetlana says:

      Who was the owner then?

      • Rosanne says:

“This area contains the Carotid Artery and Jugular Vein. If either is cut the attacker will bleed to death very rapidly. The Carotid is approximately 1.5″ below the surface of the skin, and if severed unconsciousness, will result in death in approximately 5-15 seconds.Jan 23, 2019” Science says Lindsay could not have been moved. This would have been detected instantly by an autopsy. The murderer had 5 to 15 seconds from the neck wound to move her before she would have left no blood and the bloody footprints prove that was not true

  4. Jeff Buziak, father says:

    MURDER MURDER MURDER

    OFFICIAL PUBLIC NOTICE

When individuals are allowed to get away with murder, the system/the Government have failed the citizens they are supposed to represent and protect. As a result people are left at risk with conspirators and killers walking freely among them unaccountable for their heinous deeds. It is well known that offenders left unpunished or rehabilitated will offend again. Who is the next target for the people who planned and executed Lindsay Buziak? It’s just a matter of time if not already done and to continue while police and politicians do nothing! There needs to be arrests and charges laid.

Shame on you Saanich police Chief Scott Green.
Shame on you Minister of Public Safety Mike Farnworth.
Shame on you Attorney General David Eby.
Shame on you MLA Langford-Juan de Fuca and Premier of BC John Horgan.

We hold you 4 people personally responsible for anything that transpires to harm anyone by the same people who savagely murdered Lindsay Buziak on February 2, 2008. We, the people, demand you, our representatives by oath, to arrest and charge those involved in the heinous murder of ReMax real estate agent Lindsay Buziak forthwith.

  5. Viky says:

The killer had Lindsay’s personal mobile number…so if he had her number means he should be one of the contacts or some one in the contact list would have give her number

    • lbmurder says:

Her cell number was on her real estate advertising.

      • OceanWaves says:

Technically, if you follow what Rob Braxman the internet privacy guy/burner phone/ disposable phone guru says, the murderers knew Lindsay and already had her number. They called her before from their own personal non burner phone number before they even had this burner phone used to set her up.
It’s insidious to believe that a random couple who randomly wanted Lindsay dead somehow came across her flyer while they were in Vancouver (Lindsay’s flyer would have only been laying around in Victoria because to my knowledge she was not selling property in other markets).
So the truth about them calling Lindsay was that they had her number because they knew her. It was an assumption that they got her number from her Flyer. The murderers knew she would ask “how did you get my cell number? how did you find me?” so they had their answer (which was a lie) ready for Lindsay “we got it from your flyer” or “a former client referred us”.
In a false scenario you might think that Lindsay left her flyer sitting in Calgary or Whistler, almost wanting random people to call her about listings. That doesn’t really happen because even in 2008, you’re not travelling with paperwork as that’s not a vacation. Only her father or the Zailos would know if she kept her flyers with her and left them in hotels or other random locations (restaurant in Calgary? no.). My guess is that they say “no. Lindsay was not dropping flyers all around Canada”.
The only place the murderers would have seen her flyer and therefore obtain her cell number if they did not already have it- is in Victoria at a listing of Lindsay’s own (I read the flyers, the listings she had appeared to be downtown or closer to Fisherman’s Warf & Sauce) or in the Re/Max office.

      • see closely says:

Thanks for being reasonable and practical

    • ConnectTheDots says:

Or someone in her personal life that also knew the real estate trade. I can think of three people who fit that bill. Shirley, Jason and Ryan.

      • Darwin says:

February 2nd, 2008: Of Lindsay’s 3 friends, Andrea Leilani was living in Vancouver at the time. Andrea Leilani was scheduled to have a birthday party at her house that night in Vancouver. Lindsay’s murderers said they were coming from Vancouver to see houses in Victoria. If Shirley, Ryan and Jason did not kill Lindsay, the next suspect on the list is Andrea or friends of Andrea (Dalyce Clark, Sabrina Unke, others?) who did not want Lindsay to make it to that party. The murderers bought their murder phone in Vancouver and the phone was linked to a building in Vancouver. Does anyone have the address of Andrea’s home at the time and how far was that from the building that the murder phone was linked to? https://www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=dfU7L6du8XU

        • lbmurder says:

Andrea lived in Victoria at the time Lindsay was murdered. Where did you get your info?

          • Darwin says:

There is a podcast or news piece out there that is relatively new that says Lindsay was planning on going to a birthday party that night in Vancouver. I assumed this was Andrea’s party. When I recover the link I will put it up here. I was surprised when I heard that because I always thought that Andrea was in Victoria that night as well.

          • Darwin says:

It was on this (https://www.capitaldaily.ca/news/lindsay-buziak-investigation-2008-documents) website. Here it is:
“”In the time leading up to the showing, Buziak appears to have felt increasingly conflicted. The commission she would get from any sale would be substantial — likely thousands of dollars — and according to a letter allegedly from a friend, Buziak was “stressed about money.” And there was an even more pressing matter: Her friend’s bachelorette party. It was in Vancouver on that Saturday night, but the visiting couple wanted to see houses late into Saturday evening and again throughout Sunday, meaning Buziak would likely miss the gathering.”” So the gathering that is referenced in the Capital Daily article, I am assuming is the birthday party for Andrea. If that is incorrect information, its incorrect on two counts – was it a bachelorette or a birthday party? and was it in Victoria or Vancouver? In the news video Andrea Leilani says it’s “A birthday party” and does not provide the location.

            • lbmurder says:

Please be very careful with your assumptions and try to avoid them unless you know. Thanks. We know you are trying to help. There was a bachelorette stagette in Vancouver Lindsay had been invited to and wanted to go to which OJason was incensed about and then there was also Andreas birthday party in VICTORIA the same evening. Then these buyers appeared????? Funny coincidence right?

              • Darwin says:

Who was the Stagette party for in Vancouver?

                • lbmurder says:

I would suggest you contact this individual for the answer to that question as I believe you to be a suspect:
I’m sure Damian would be happy to answer your question.
                  Damian Kowalewich 1-250-475-4321

                  • Darwin says:

If the accusations about police on this website are correct, Mr. Kowalewich would not provide me with that information when I asked him nor would he likely have that information himself. Secondly, I find it to be counterproductive given that Mr. Kowalewich can easily find out who I am on his own (figuring out who is blog posting is an easy peasy police job because it’s connected to our email and ISP/ computer ID). Everyone on this website should be suspect. I do not think the police are actively combing through the site because they might consider everything here hearsay. Someone else can call Damian and complain about me. I have nothing to hide and have never been to Canada or had interests there.

    • Svetlana says:

The way to get this solved is to publish the suspect’s name. I am sure the police have a suspect or two but are not sharing it. Is this person in prison for something else and they’re trying to get more info out of him? Is he out of the country? What on earth is wrong with publishing the names? Other crimes did that!

The point of this now is not to keep it quiet. Are they waiting for more information because they don’t have the evidence? Well they won’t get it unless they GO PUBLIC with the name. Can’t the premier of BC allow it? Is that justice to ignore the victims?

      WE WANT NAMES.

          • Svetlana says:

Their priority is to solve this. There is nothing wrong with publicly naming the suspects. It’s the least they can do. Think about it – it’s the only way to get them.

    • OceanWaves says:

Mark: Dr. Gail S. Anderson checks the decaying bodies for bugs. Because she says the type of bugs on a decaying body tell how the person was killed or what was in the persons body. It’s gotta be a mind bending field. So if a decaying corpse had signs of maggots rather than ants that could mean (and I am just making this up) that the body had poison in it. It’s far fetched that Dr. Anderson would be able to get involved unless the family allowed Lindsay’s body to be exhumed. And I am not sure that Dr. Anderson can gain insight for the cremated. Dr. Anderson does teach forensic science classes. All the other names on your list appear to be RCMP persons who participated in Dr. Andersons research book which is free here online and 76 pages of Forensics in Canada https://www.csfs.ca/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/booklet2007.pdf
What I read so far is that there are 3 different ways that DNA can be collected. I am thinking that the Saanich police only used 1 way. Even so, that comment that “we didn’t find any DNA that wasn’t supposed to be there (there being the 1702 DeSousa Way house)” made by Chris Horsley is telling us either a) the murderers were very good about clean up and not getting DNA in the home or more likely b) since the murderers were known to have been very swift getting in and out of the home with a murder in between- and comments made that the person stabbing Lindsay was doing it quickly because of the markings on Lindsays body- that the murderers were someone from the list of DNA that was in the house. That would have been a very limited number of people: Joe DeSousa, Mrs. DeSousa, DeSousa’s children, contractors, the two realtors that listed the house – Nancy DiCastri and Laurie Lidstone, Jason Zailo and Cohen Oatman. If that’s your list and no other DNA is present, guess what?! One of those people killed Lindsay. Note, the stab wounds and markings do have a lot to do with how tall the killer was. Lindsay would have been standing initially. Others have made comments about how many wounds versus how much time the murderers had to do them. It has to do with the murderers height as well. If they were much taller than Lindsay the wounds would come in at an angle These monsters cut Lindsay’s neck too, Lindsay was petite, her murderer would have had to have been her size or taller. Lindsay would have also had undigested food in her system because there was not enough time for her to digest if she was eating at Sauce that late in the day before the showing. Autopsy report should show either a full stomach or empty. Empty stomach means the Sauce story is a ruse.

      • Svetlana says:

Can autopsy reports be given to the family?

        • lbmurder says:

Because Saanich police maintain Lindsay’s unsolved murder as an active file the autopsy report cannot be released to the family.
Solving Lindsay’s murder is not the problem; Saanich police are the problem.

Was warranted executed on Google Maps/ Streetview? Who viewed death house in months leading up to murder?

    • Anonymous says:

I have the same question … “how do police know “the conspirators may have used map quest to familiarize themselves with the area”? That’s is such a random yet specific Easter egg.

      • OceanWaves says:

That would have meant that their Burner phone / disposable phone would have had wifi on it. At the time in 2008 I believe based on the youtube videos that I have watched today that any burner/ disposable phone bought at that time would have been on a 3G network and more difficult to trace but not impossible to trace. The phone and the phone owners/ Lindsay’s murderers would have had to have been purchased with wifi on it in 2008 in order for them to access map quest. A comment like the one you posted, would try to mislead the public into thinkin g that the conspirators were completely unfamiliar with both Vancouver (picking a “random” (bullsh*t I say to that) address to register the phone to) and unfamiliar Victoria and therefore, but way of being totally unknowledgeable about both areas one assumes that they were picked at random as assassins to hunt down and kill Lindsay. A theory of which is total BS from start to finish. Watch this next video (posted a few earlier) from Rob Braxman (or find others, as there are plenty, but Rob seems to be a bit more clear to me – a non-techie person) IF I am counting correctly- he is saying there is not one but up to 5 ways a person can be caught/ surveillance/ tracked on a burner/ disposable phone.
Am I correct? is it 5 different ways? https://youtu.be/ueaCAdyfwE8
Because if it is, and we go back in time to 2008- I am guessing that there are still at least 3 ways a person can get caught. Which says to me this: the Saanich Police have caught and know who the murderers of Lindsay are. That is why they continue to reject all other theories. Saanich PD for whatever jack*ss reason have not arrested those killers and those murderers of Lindsay are not in custody. Yet.
With respect to your specific question about map quest, Mr./ Mrs. Anonymous, the answer is in the Rob Braxman video as he says “it’s easier to track you if you have wifi on your burner phone”. Get the picture?

    • Svetlana says:

About now the only reported connection to this murder is with that person who called in to the burner phone to check for messages. So who is this person who nearly jeopardized the conspirators by being “kind of dumb”? What character would that be and where are they? I would’ve said Jason because he has that dumbish look but I think it’s a woman-the one who talked to Lindsay over the phone.

      • OceanWaves says:

I challenge anyone on this website to purchase a burner phone and go through the process of setting it up. I get kind of agitated when I see comments about the burner phone and the fact that police could not connect it to Lindsay’s murderers and make an arrest now or they are reluctant to make an arrest even though the person (s) that are linked to the burner phone are obvious to the police …any rate about 5 to 6 years ago I had to purchase a burner phone for myself when my cell phone had been destroyed by a perpetrator and I had to purchase a new one unfortunately it came on warranty so I had to get a burner phone in the interim just to be able to have contact with anybody. When I purchased the burner phone I had to go online … Whereas I could have used a fake name I still needed to pay with my own credit card to complete set up and that credit card had to be linked to my credit cards address so when I see statements from the police or anyone else talking about 1 or 2 burner phones linked to Lindsay’s murder I question why the murderers cannot be caught based on my own experience when I purchased a burner phone myself and set it up. Nevertheless maybe the process is different in Canada than in the United States? YouTube tutorials on setting up burner phones? It just doesnt add up. I call BS on the burner phone leading to no where or fake everything. It’s just not possible.

        • Svetlana says:

It is shocking that they didn’t find out who the owner is of that phone. Okay they didn’t see the actual purchase of it from a video. BUT they could have easily found out who provided that line. Conspirators may have paid in cash but the codes can ALL be traced. This cash transaction and the code provided from this transaction to enter into the phone to get the line is SOMEWHERE. So I would think that was a self-serve provider for a prepaid line. Which ones were offering in 2007/8? Maybe Telus mobility has access to this? Was it possible to have used a service in the USA that can be used to make calls within Canada? The police must know these answers!! Someone who has access to the data would know.

That was incredibly educational… Thank you! I am really ignorant on these burner phones and I had taken the word of the PD when they stated they could not track/trace ownership or usage. While I understand that they ball-faced LIED about the phones and there actually being two in use for this murder I am left dumbfounded that they’ve been able to LIE about their knowledge and just WHO the perpetrators were. Un-fk**ng believable. That info alone is grounds for interrogation and an arrest.

Is it because his “wife” was not available and so he is the one who checked for messages from his phone?

On February 2nd,2021 it will be 13 years, and everybody’s focus and attention has been on that 1702 desousa pl. House! Where is the Focus and Attention for the SHC detail Shop and it’s owners, The SEMREN Brothers ? All of the Information that I have heard about and read points me to the SHC Detail Shop and NOT that House ! I Firmly believe that Lindsay was murdered at the SHC detail Shop and Transported to the upstairs bedroom ! People have questioned why Jason upon entry at the front door, pushed the door open and DARTED to the upstairs bedroom ? Jason ALREADY knew where Lindsay was going to be layed out according to their plans ! Why the upstairs bedroom ? They want EVERYBODY to believe that Lindsay was alive in that house and walked up the stairs! Where are all of the STAGED crime scene photographs for ALL to see ? Remember, Lindsay was stabbed 40+ times. There would have been a VAST amount of blood on that bedroom floor, there would have been Blood SPATTER and CAST OFF from the knife onto the walls and ceiling! All first responders, the police, paramedics, forensic evidence recovery unit, EVERYONE that was in that upstairs bedroom needs to be spoken with concerning their OBSERVATION on what they OBSERVED in that upstairs bedroom !!! I would like to see more EXPERTS in the FORENSIC FIELD to Re-evaluate ALL EVIDENCE that was collected in what I believe to be a “Staged” crime scene A HOAX !

    • Darwin says:

The people that own SHC now are new owners. It was a different owner when Lindsay was murdered. I would go as far as saying the the property managers of the SHC property were involved since they have dominion over that CCTV camera in the parking lot of SHC and can modify the dates and times on the recording. The name of the management company was posted on this site before. Digging it up again and posting it here on this thread later this weekend.
The Saanich police should request records from the management company A) when that camera was installed
and B) who operated it on the date of Lindsay’s murder? Is it safe to say that their names are not on the Saanich PD interview list?
Jason Zailo believes that the former owners of SHC and managers of that property are tight with him otherwise he would not have chosen that spot and that CCTV camera for an alibi. Without that CCTV video and Cohen Oatman’s cooperation (confusion? or accessory?) Jason would be named as the #1 suspect. I am positive based on what I have seen on the internet about everything that Jason had a relationship with both the SHC owners and the developers/ managers of the property where SHC is located.

Barry Mclachlan, The former financial crimes detective and Staff Sergeant is quite possibly the person Chris Horsley is protecting from CRIMINAL prosecution, after all, Mclachlan retired one day before the murder and dated the murderer after the murder. After the Zailo’s business was done with Rianne Gracia, Did she leave Remax Scared for her life or did she leave Remax the day after the murder because her Business with the Zailos ( Contract) with her was finished ? Mark: The article written by Rob Shaw in the Times Colonist, dated February 1st 2008, states that Sgt. Barry McLachlan was not a financial crimes detective but was the Platoon and Former Dive Team Commander. Constable Tim Motts was the person mentioned previous to his name in the article who was the Financial Crimes Detective. Let’s go over the rest of them who at the time Inspector Rob McColl said was “more than normal” as in the number of personnel retiring on the same day:
      1) Inspector John Charlton: Division Detective, 2) Sergeant Mike Irwin: Traffic, 3) Sergeant Bob Wall (*): Senior Interrogator 4) Sergeant Don Wiebe (*) Senior Interrogator 5) Sergeant Keith Hanson: Traffic and Telecom numbers 6 and 7 are mentioned above, Barry and Tim.
Note: Rob McColl replaced Charlton and Wiebe n’ Wall started consulting to Saanich PD after they retired.
5 of the 7 I have seen in previous comments or articles about Victoria BC. The two (2) I would not suspect from this list are Hanson and Charlton. Saanich PD must have warned Paul Bergshoeff might have been informed by one of his colleagues at Saanich PD that if he did not flee the country (back to his country) that he would be arrested for Lindsay’s murder. I am thinking that to him, Lindsay was more attractive than Shirley. Who wouldn’t? Putting Paul on vacation with Shirley, Lindsay and Jason, at Whistler Paul might have made a pass at Lindsay and obviously been rejected. It doesn’t seem that Lindsay would have told Shirley or Jason about that if she was going to leave Jason.

Joe Desousa is Definitely one of the Co-conspirators ! It was Desousa, with His REMOTE CONTROL BUTTON for his GARAGE DOOR that waited at his house for Shirley, Ryan, Paul to Arrive from SHC’S detail Shop after Shirley Murdered Lindsay there to Transport Lindsay’s body into the 1702 Desousa place house’s Upstairs bedroom to make it Appear as if Lindsay was Murdered in that House. Just another HOAX ! As they rounded the turn into the Culdesac, the GARAGE door OPENED and they Conveniently Drove inside the GARAGE and Closed the door and as they were driving inside the GARAGE, Rianne Gracia, Lindsay’s IMPOSTER that Impersonated as Lindsay the real estate agent Parked Lindsay’s car in the driveway. Jason’s Illogical Actions that day was MANY ! One of them being driving into the Culdesac, past the house, opposite side of the street, Just another HOAX ! This ACTION by Jason Zailo was to Keep his WATCHFUL EYES on That GARAGE door to Open up So that Shirley, Desousa, Ryan, Paul and Rianne can FLEE the SCENE ! Does anyone get the “PICTURE” yet ? Lindsay was NOT murdered in the house at 1702 Desousa Place. Lindsay was murdered at the SHC Detail Shop and Transported ! People, PLEASE pay Close Attention to Jason Zailo’s Actions the Day of the Murder beginning at the Sauce Restaurant and HIS Schedule ! 4pm, 4:30pm, 5:30pm. And Compare His Timeline Away from the 1702 Desousa place house to that of the FALSE TIMELINE that was CREATED at the 1702 Desousa place house. Jason USED a RUSE for Lindsay to follow him directly into the SHC’S Detail Shop to have Her car detailed, so he could drive his car with her, and be with her for her Safety . Lindsay ABSOLUTELY BELIEVED Jason was to be with her in that house at 1702 Desousa place for her PROTECTION !!! It also has been reported that not All CCTV cameras were operable that day. My only Question for that time is how many CCTV cameras were on that property ? Answer to Q-2. Their inside a DETAIL SHOP. After the Attack, The Clean-Up was Easy by using a Pressure Washer to Spray her blood down the Floor Drain. And for the method they used to Transport her body, remember, Jason and Ryan were Hockey players, they Used a Hockey Equipment Bag .

      • OceanWaves says:

Anyone every speculate about Shirley Zailo having an affair with Joe DeSousa? Then Mrs. DeSousa murdering Lindsay because she wrongly thought that Lindsay was Shirley? (a stretch but if told “the brunette realtor from Re/Max Camosun is getting together with your husband” that would have made her jealous enough to kill) bc by and large the majority of Camosun realtors appear to be blonde.
On the other hand, if Shirley and Joe were hooking up together, Shirley would have been scared that her boyfriend Paul Bergshoeff and or DeSousa’s wife would find out about her affair with Joe DeSousa.
There MUST have been several vacant homes in the same price range for sale on the market at the time in Greater Victoria.
Guessing that the house and owners are a connection deeper than what’s on the surface. Not a random house. But a house that is chosen by the murderers because they feel, sadly, that it’s safe to kill someone there and not get caught (about which they are mistaken).
Another idea equally as plausible: Paul Bergshoeff having an affair with DeSousa’s wife. Lindsay “sees something she wasn’t supposed to see” (Paul B and Mrs. S. DeSousa) together. Paul and Mrs. DeSousa plot to murder Lindsay.
A grand cover up would be the entire DeSousa development being paid for by dirty copy money. Perhaps Lindsay’s “I saw something I shouldn’t have seen” was evidence that dirty cop money paid for an entire development in Victoria but was not privy to exactly which one.

        • Svetlana says:

Exactly-they felt very at ease to do it at THAT house – like a husband does when he kills his wife in their home. Because they knew all about this house and who comes and goes at which time. Maybe had keys to all doors and knowing the workers hours and that none of them would return that same hour or even had a plan for that.

        • ConnectTheDots says:

I don’t think that the level of fear that Lindsay felt was triggered by an affair. It was something much more serious than that.

          • Just a Canadian Citizen says:

CTD if people’s wealth and status in the community could be effected because of an affair I do believe that could be a motive for this brutal attack. This was very very personal. (sic) If this was some drug dealers that felt she sent the cops on them she would have been shot somewhere and that would have been it. Who would take the time and effort to do what was done to Lindsay unless they had a personal hatred toward her?

                • Rosanne says:

This is about the psychic saying Lindsay was killed because she caught Shirley having an affair. Basically I am saying Mama bear would have had to tell Jason about this because she sent killers to a house where Jason should have been there protecting Lindsay. If this affair was something that a person would kill to keep quiet why would she go blabbing about it , even to her son? Wouldn’t she now have to have him killed? I would assume she would have to give her son a good reason she was going to kill his girlfriend. Jason did have to know that his girlfriend, he supposedly cared for, was going to be killed or he would not have been looking for alibis before it even happened. Pressuring a friend to go eat an hour after Jason just had lunch and walking around his car to the passenger side to look directly at the camera. Chris Horsley said if Jason had turned the corner a few seconds later, he would have run right into them (the murdered) If Jason had done what he was supposed to and protected Lindsay, or had shown up by himself to show the house, professional killers would not have just played along as clients, viewed the house and left. So what my point would be Shirley taking this risk with her son would have had to be something big that he bought into as being worth having his girlfriend killed over. I don’t know what the cancellation policy is for killers but I doubt it would involve any refunds.

My point re the psychic is: Just imagine adults that are looked up to in the community hooking up and this very personal affair being made public. The married offender could face a divorce which would mean losing 1/2 of wealth, paying child support and alimony. Both offenders will lose their high standing in the community. Could you just imagine how they would feel, the talking behind their backs, the looks and laughter when out in public, the loss of wealth and business. It sounds like most of the players have Huge egos. Stop and think about it. Sure there is probably much more but to take a chance of having your reputation totally destroyed could indeed be a factor.

People must get their Inspiration from GOD, there is Already enough CONFUSION within Lindsay’s case that Began with the Zailo’s and their Co-conspirators and their many HOAXE’S that started with phone calls and ended up at Joe Desousa’s house. Remove the HOAXE’S and Get to the TRUTH !!!

                    • Rosanne says:

Wouldn’t it have been easier, since the married person already doesn’t give a hoot about their spouse as evidenced in having an affair in the first place, for them to have killed their spouse? Let’s face it they seem to know how to get away with murder! By killing Lindsay their toys are still in jeopardy. Does it make since to say, 1 person knows about the affair, so I got a brilliant idea, I am going to tell 2 more people about it because they need alibis when I kill her. How would you be taken serious without explaining why you need to get her out of the picture for good. If someone, anyone came up to me and said. Next week you are going to need an airtight alibi , I would want to know why. I do have to admit that my mind is having a very hard time trying to wrap around any of this case or how the Police treated the victim’s family. My thinking doesn’t even understand evil like this stuff.

A retired Saanich police sergeant who survived a 1982 bombing following a high-speed car chase, has died at the age of 74.

Walter Manuel De Sousa Craveiro died of a cardiac arrest on Jan. 5 at Victoria General Hospital. He’d been in the hospital after taking a fall at home, explained his son, Nico Craveiro. On Tuesday, he was preparing to pick up Craveiro, who lived in his garden suite, when a doctor called to say his father had passed away.Saanich police sergeant who survived ’80s car bomb explosion dies at 74

            What?

            • Rosanne says:

De Sousa in this officer’s name and being the name of the builder and the street where Lindsay’s murder took place.

              • Darwin says:

I have read and been told that the DeSousa family have deep ties in Saanich. So yes, Rosanne it is relevant that their relative (Joe’s Father? Grandfather? or Uncle?) was a revered and obviously much loved person working with Saanich law enforcement. Now it would make a lot of sense why the Saanich police would want to hide/ horde or cover up information (other than attempting to hide being incompetent, or keeping information close to the breast so as to not allow the murderers of Lindsay to be apprised as to the information at hand) that Saanich PD would want to help keep the DeSousa name out of the limelight as much as possible. As with everything else, both sides can be true: it might be true that the DeSousa family had something more to do with Lindsay’s murder. And it could also be true that their relative Walter Manuel DeSousa Craveiro was a great law enforcement officer. It’s a cold fact that some families have law enforcement officers and criminals within them. Maybe the crims feel that their law enforcement relatives will help them out with their missteps.

Jason can make up all the lies he wanted like how he offered to do the showing just so people can see what a kind boyfriend he was. Behind every lie there is some truth. The “he” was probably his mother who did the offering on the last minute so that no one is aware of it.

Why doesn’t the police reveal what Lindsay wore on Feb. 2?

    • MJG says:

MARK: HOLY SMOKES! QUITE INTERESTING! Could this be possible?
      A question for you Mark:
The way Lindsey was murdered with so, so many stab wounds plus a slit throat…wouldn’t she have lost a large amount of blood at the scene of SHC Detail Shop and then losing more blood while being put into a hockey equipment bag, plus being transported to the Desousa house…..now, wouldn’t the medical team questioned about “why” there was so little blood at the (new) murder scene in the Desousa house, blood coming from Lindsey’s badly cut-up body??? They would have immediately question that and would most likely concluded that Lindsey was not murdered in that house…..and that she was purposely moved there….furthermore, wouldn’t this important detail be known to Jeff?. UNLESS, this is being kept secret and sealed from the public and can only be known by the killers themselves. Mark, What does Jeff think about this interesting possibility?

      • MJG says:

Continued from my previous message to Mark’s interesting observation:
While the autopsy was being preformed, they would have found that Lindsey had very little blood left in her entire body….that she had bled out somewhere other than the DeSousa house…..a definite give away that she was murdered elsewhere!

    • Svetlana says:

I am just wondering how can it even be possible for Shirley to befriend Rianne within a month and then to convince her to do something so horrendous? I think that’s how long Rianne was working for at Camosun. I don’t think her best friend could’ve been involved. I hope not, but then again she was involved with that street level drug dealer and maybe he pushed her to do some things for him like find stash houses or something.

      • ConnectTheDots says:

Just because she had only worked at Remax for a month does not mean that she was not already well acquainted with Shirley.

      • following says:

I don’t think she was involved. I think she just wanted to get away from it. Brutal murder, involving real estate. I’d quit too.

    • Anonymous says:

Why would Desousa conspire to kill someone in a house he was trying to sell ??

      • ConnectTheDots says:

Because he was wrapped up in the local illegal stuff that was rampant like money laundering or drug dealing the list goes on and the compensation made it well worth it. You really need that explained to you?

        • Anonymous says:

It’s a simple question you don’t need to be rude. There are two sides to every coin so we should discuss reasons both for and against. It’s being suggested that a person would voluntarily give up a million dollar house to murder a girl that had nothing to do with drugs or the local illegal stuff because she might have known something. If he was a conspirator would he really have her murdered in his house to connect right back to him ??

That being said, it was discussed in the the brainscratch interview that Paulo Rodriguez is a name of Portuguese origin and that people tend to choose names that they are familiar with – the name DeSousa is also that of Portuguese origin. It’s a variant of D’Souza.

          • ConnectTheDots says:

You are right Anonymous and I apologize for that comment. I think that the need to have total control over the murder scene was the most important thing. They couldn’t have any unanticipated people showing up at the house and the only way to 100% do that was to have some kind of connection with the person who did have control over the house, the owner who Shirley knew well. He was and I would think still is in her circle although given all this probably keeping a respectable distance these days. These people have strong connections and I think they believed, with good cause, that this case was going to be buried quickly and the connection between Shirley and Joe would not be something that the public would ever be aware of. They did not count of Jeff.

      • Mark Roush says:

Why? Because Joe Desousa was Friends with Paul Bergshoeff who at the time was in a Relationship with Shirley Zailo ! How many people do you know would buy this INFAMOUS house where a SUPPOSED murder Occurred ? Joe Desousa Did Not have a Problem Moving in that house because He knows that Lindsay’s murder did not Occur in that house !! He KNOWS the murder of Lindsay HAPPENED at the SHC DETAIL SHOP and her Body was Transported to His house !!! Step Forward Joe Desousa If You Believe in GOD !!!

Quick question – I listened to this podcast episode by Creeps and Crimes on Lindsay and at one point it was mentioned that another real estate agent got a suspicious call and when it was traced- the caller was supposedly Jason’s ex girlfriend. Does anyone know this to be true ? I have not heard this rumour before.

    You can listen at 60:11

    • Svetlana says:

I didn’t hear it that way. I read that a few days after the murder, Jason’s ex girlfriend, a realtor, reportedly received a call from someone with a strange accent but I think it turned out to be nothing.

This is the first time I hear that his ex-girlfriend made a random strange call to another realtor after a few months.

      • Lillian says:

I gotta tell ya, I had a very difficult time “listening” to these two giggling bubble heads. I had to FF a few spots (well 1/2 way) because they spent the majority or that time talking and giggling about themselves and I just wasn’t that “into them.” They did very little research to update themselves to the present of Lindsay’s murder in 2020. I think there analysis/presentation is discredited. It’s been 13 years and we’ve put together a very reliable murder plot that continues to evolve but is extremely plausible if not THE version of events.
Albeit, thank you for sharing this podcast. If nothing else it solidifies that the Justice for Lindsay is on the correct path…. = 99%
The SPD = .000001%. I don’t know what that number would stand for, I’ll leave that for you to fill.

      • OceanWaves says:

It’s good to know what people were up to and who they were connecting with after Lindsay’s murder. Because: I read that the murderers always show clues about themselves after the murder and that is how they ultimately get caught. Tripping themselves up on something. I was wondering if anyone had a list of the names of the 1,400 people that were interviewed for the investigation of Lindsay’s murder. To have the police make a statement like that (they interviewed that many people in connection with Lindsay’s murder?) and then no results seems surprising. I wonder if these were all written statements?, in person interviews?, phone interviews?, or text conversations? I wonder who on Saanich PD interviewed them, all 1,400 ( https://www.saanichnews.com/news/three-years-in-buziak-murder-case-at-a-standstill/ ) , and who followed up on any information that was found? How long were the interviews? I don’t remember reading if Cohen Oatman took a lie detector test? or how many people were asked to take one and then declined or accepted? Did Rainne Gracia take a lie detector test? was she asked to? Would the police (Barry MacLachlan, Chris Horsley, Paul Bergshoeff) take the test? How about the former client that was used as a referral name to the murderers to set up the appointment? What was his or her name?

        • Svetlana says:

According to the latest report that Capital Daily obtained, apparently there was no particular referral client. That is why Lindsay was calling around to various clients.

          From the pressreader article,
Bob Wall and Don Wiebe, two Sergeants who were senior interrogators plan to continue their private business, ITV Consulting, which trains businesses and police forces on interviewing techniques. They have already been hired by Saanich police to train younger officers.

Wiebe was Saanich’s most experienced detective.

What stopped them from investigating Lindsay’s murder?

          • lbmurder says:

Lindsay told her dad Jeff that the clients who lead her to her death said they were referred by a former client. That is truth first hand and not through questionable police officers of Saanich police.

Saanich police have ignored numerous facts Lindsay discussed with her father because they don’t fit in to the Saanich police, now real, cover up of Lindsay’s murder. Saanich police base their whole investigation on information provided by Jason Zailo and Cohen Oatman because that is the Saanich way.

The officers were not involved because they were not asked to come back. They could not just state they were coming back. Jeff Buziak spoke to one of the senior interrogators who inquired about going back but Saanich police refused his assistance.

          • lbmurder says:

ITV Consulting used a CVSA machine which they also sold one to Saanich police. David Baines of the Vancouver Sun did a series of articles on the machine proving it was bogus and claims to its usefulness false along with its founder to be a con.

Craig Sampson then head of Lindsay’s file at Saanich police was a Consultant working for ITV off duty of course using the CVSA machine while still head of Lindsay’s file. Craig Sampson is now retired from Saanich police and works for the Office of The Police Complaint Commission who denied Jeff Buziak’s complaint against Chris Horsley of Saanich police for threatening him at his work place in Calgary. Chris Horsley was accompanied by Tyler Sampson who is the son of Craig Sampson and also a detective at Saanich police.

Are you getting the jist of this dirty cover up yet?

            • Jeff Buziak, father says:

I confirm the above three statements by lbmurder.

              • OceanWaves says:

I thought I read Chris Horsley was accompanied by Trevor Dyck? Was there 2 of them (from Saanich PD)? or were there two of them that tried to get you to stop (searching for LIndsay’s murderers)? Were there two in person threats one with Chris Horsley and Trevor Dyck, then a second one with Horsley and Tyler Sampson? When did they threaten you? Tyler just started training in 2014. Yeah, it’s very suspicious. A dirty cover up would indicate to me that besides Lindsay’s murder, there is still something going on with all the players involved. Otherwise there wouldn’t be a constant deflection (by the PD), boys club and nepotism. Almost waiting to see who the next round of early retirees is because that’s the way they do when they (are on the take??), act as though they’ve hit the lottery and retire early. Considering Mrs. DeSousa won the lottery, perhaps it’s a big time Lottery scandal. If dirty money can’t be washed with real estate- it has to go somewhere- but you would think people would keep that hush money quiet and not let the public know.

Why is what is so obvious to us laymen that the people who are tasked with policing the police can be so willfully blind? Why is this corruption not national news? I’ve written to Fifth Estate and W5 trying to motivate them to investigate this case… other than the original “thank you” I’ve seen/heard nothing. I don’t get it. On top of that, how many 20-something year olds are making so much money that they can afford expensive cars, and homes? The amount he made, the average person can’t make in a lifetime!

Is that Barry Lingda Liu? A mortgage broker for RBC? Or another Barry Liu?
If we believe the eyewitness (es?) accounts, Michelle Lum and Rianne Gracia Beltran would have been “too young” and someone like Shirley Zailo would have been “too old”) that according to the eyewitness (es) account (s) ) would come down to someone about a decade older than Lindsay.
There is no way for an eyewitness (es) to judge correctly age (s) of people when they’re turned sideways or backs are turned to them unless they were standing fairly close in which case they would hear the voices of those speaking to Lindsay.

Not that there are not any corrupt people in banking and mortgage but I think it’s hard pressed to find someone who works at a bank and does mortgages who has any criminal history as I thought they have to have a squeaky clean background to become hired for that job in the first place. Same thing with Real Estate. In the USA they have submit prints and have a criminal background check to be registered in their state. But there are always those who become dirty after the fact.

What if Shirley and the officer were not exchanging bodily fluids but some clean laundered cash? If she caught them somewhere they should not have been, maybe the “affair” was just an excuse, that Lindsay didn’t buy. That would form a police, realtor, gangster triangle. Isn’t something like that keeping this unsolved? It would be a really good excuse for everyone being afraid to speak up .

    • Robin says:

There is definitely a money launderer, gangster, realtor, cop triangle here, toss in drugs too. That’s a given. SZ gettin it on the side is just the price of business, let her think she’s desirable to gain favour with “do you know who I am” attitude. She’s a ball busting bitch who wants to instill fear in people, a modern day BULLY. AND since I’m mentioning “Do you know who I am”? I just rewatched the Godfather series over Xmas and laughed when I came to the part in the show when Moe Green actually said that EXACT same thing to Michael. LOL…… Michael being a class act just walked away from the silly fk.
So here we go with another year of pursuing JUSTICE for Lindsay! What an honourable task we have undertaken. Unfortunately Lindsay hadn’t figured out how cruel humans could be or that psychopaths can live that close to us. The Zailo’s would have been the bar she ran the rest of her life by but SZ and her people are out of control and played GOD, hence we stay with the task at hand. Justice for Lindsay in 2021.

Saanich Police Chief Mike Chadwick, who serves his last day on the job today, says one of his biggest regrets is that the slaying of Lindsay Buziak remains unsolved.

“There’s not a day that goes by I don’t think about the Buziak homicide,” Chadwick told reporters earlier this week. “And it is a regret that that one is unsolved, because we have so very few unsolved homicides in our jurisdiction. … To have that one outstanding, it’s definitely something I would have liked to see resolved before my retirement.”

SPD is full of wannabe cops who are ineffective at solving Lindsay’s obvious vicious murder. God forbid you let real detectives see how the SPD has carelessly tripped around pretending to be on the ball for almost 13 years.Joining VIIMCU after the fact. What a disgrace, if the SPD cared, if the Police Board cared, if the Mayor cared Lindsay’s horrific murder would have been solved and put to rest. I’m sure the total number of people mentioned there as of Dec 31, 2020 are at least 50 and that’s on the shy side.

It should be the biggest task they have had at hand, people from all over the world have been speaking loud and clear for 12 years now and the school yard boys behaviour just gets worse. Now they play “IGNORE” I haven’t played IGNORE since I was about 13! These Chief of Police say absolutely NOTHING, it is unacceptable They have 1 murder to solve in Saanich and here we are on the 4th Chief! Chief cat got my tongue Green and zero results from what they call a HIGHLY SOLVABLE murder! It’s so disturbing all the way around. Why is Saanich holding on so tight? Why don’t they want help solving Lindsay’s murder? One job, one vicious murder, 4th Chief of Police. 13 years, no arrests, that is bad so so bad. • Robin says:

Awe gee Wyatt we’re birds of a feather. Happy New Year to you too and to all of the people on this blog who UNITE in this fight for JUSTICE. Bring 2021 on. We fight for Lindsay and throw our support behind Jeff. We all need to fight for what is right! Murder is not ok, and then to live in a highly taxed system where justice gets swept under the carpet.
            “Fuck that shit”

    • Dennis says:

“The Saanich force has a long history of promoting within the ranks, unlike Victoria, which tends to hire from outside police departments. Deputy chief Bob Downie will step in as Saanich’s top cop effective Feb. 1 and Insp. Scott Green is being promoted to deputy chief.”

WOW… nepotism at its finest eh? There’s good cause why Victoria hires “outside” the department’s, keeps corruption to a minimum if not preventing from taking hold, seems to me the SPD absolutely SHOULD amalgamate with Victoria because they clearly are corrupt and dirty. They are incapable of solving a very solvable (their term) murder yet after 13 years appear to be no closer or capable of it either. Shame on the politicians of Vancouver Island.

      • Dennis says:

        Hey Mayor Haynes & council…..
Here’s an excerpt from an investigation into the corruption at ANY level of corporations. With all you “experts” on the Police Board, you’d think at least ONE of you would have the integrity to clean up the dirty police in the SPD!

“Left unaddressed, corruption can fester and affect the vast majority of honest employees, in that there is more potential for less public co-operation on an operational level.
In addition, employees may see a lack of action as a sign that management doesn’t take the corrupt behaviour seriously, the report added. “It is clear that the risk of not making proactive changes to address the incidence of corruption can have grave consequences.”

    • Lillian says:

Amalgamate. Amalgamate. Amalgamate. It’s the only avenue out of the corrupt, dirty police of Saanich! Oh, and the corrupt and dirty police board. Oh, and Mayor Haynes…. hahaha… can you imagine? He’d loose his job! Now that’s karma!

  20. following says:

The answer is in the lockbox access. Someone gained access. In a property that was on the market a year, very few code access’ would have occurred. Prior access, someone laying in wait. No prior access, then a set up. Someone has a key. Someone must of had access.

    • Darwin says:

Agreed. Lock box key fobs can also be traced. There are digital trackers inside. Someone working at ReMax Camosun office may have known Lindsay’s code. So we don’t really know that it is her that allowed someone access to the home. I got a real estate license in two states in the U.S. One was pretty loose with lockbox issues. The other was super uptight but I had to spend time on the phone and even had to go in person to deal with lockbox digital fobs because they were not working correctly. I was super annoyed with the keyfob distributor and wondered in the end if it was actually safe or just another obnoxious way to track people. I invested money and never ended up showing a home so I would not know how that turned out. It was right around- or a year or two before Lindsay’s murder. Because I remember it was in between having the extra fob and being able to unlock with a blackberry or smart phone. Does anyone know if Lindsay had a fob? or was she unlocking boxes with her blackberry? The FOB I had I think was from Supra.

      • following says:

Everything is recorded and backed up. Its required because of liability . If I was an investigator, I would work backwards for access. Someone needed a key. At least to survey the scene or even do a dry run through. The fact she was killed in the furthest part of the house suggests “a plan”. Random realtor attacks have usually occurred once the victim is in the house with the front door closed. The reason is on random attacks, time is of the essence. If a random attempt to kill occurs its at the first opportunity. Ie: front door closed.

        • lbmurder says:

Home owner Joe Desousa was in the house just after 5pm. Joe Desousa was good friends with Paul Bergshoeff, Shirley Zailos common law at the time.

          • Robin says:

            JOE DESOUSA- HOMEOWNER
            FRIEND of SHIRLEY ZAILO’s
BF at the time, PAUL BERGSHOEFF! JOE DESOUSA is the common denominator for access and giving conspirators and murderers access and place for the murder of Lindsay Buziak. Think no more. JOE DESOUSA was even at the house prior to the murder and probably most of the day with workers who were next door. JOE DESOUSA could have provided unlimited access to house anytime SHIRLEY ZAILO asked. Will the SPD please allow real detectives to work this or are they complicit? This is as obvious as the animal on Trump’s head.

            • ConnectTheDots says:

I agree 100% Robin. Joe DeSousa was also heard commenting that ” the bitch got what she deserved”. Who says that? I think he was involved in this murder.

              • Robin says:

He was involved as far as knowing dam well what was going to happen to Lindsay in HIS house. That mthrfkr better see prison on earth before he sees prison in HELL. Here we go heading into year 13 in this fight with Jeff. I like the number 13 in this case, it suits the ugly conspirators, murderers and the people complicit, which includes dumbkoffs at Saanich police, who allow this to remain unsolved. A certain hell awaits all of you. My daily prayer.

              • Following says:

this was a vicious well calculated and planned murder. i find it hard to believe that just because someone dislikes someone associated with them – at his age – would get involved or even know about this. its not something you talk about. its more likely a very close association and the more people involved the greater the risk of being caught.

            • Svetlana says:

I did read a Youtube comment from someone who is apparently from Victoria and knows a few things about that man. Something about how he got his money.

It may not be a coincidence that the house was put up for sale in January and the murder happened not too long afterwards.

              • Robin says:

Coincidence? LOL….. no coincidences here. There are lots of bizarre happenings that have been brought to everyone’s attention over the years and that is exactly why Chris Horsley went to Calgary on the taxpayers dime with Wimpy! Besides a road trip, frequent flyer points, a couple provincial tax free items, meals and a visit with old cop friends who could harass Jeff they got to threaten the father of a girl who was murdered! Threaten to shut down a blog that they could only imagine might expose the truth in a system we have never been able to question until then. We have been able to communicate with each other, share opinions and instincts. Who are the only losers in that. Complicit people! People who are on the take. Our opinions count and cops hate that we can have a place to say them.

      • Svetlana says:

The conspirators were so close to Lindsay that they had connections to know if someone will be coming around to the house at that particular time. Plus as an added security for them and for him, Jason is there but not alone.

    • Svetlana says:

What happened to all the thousands of tips? Some of those tips could have been from other criminals.

    • Robin says:

Owner, Joe DeSousa always had access. Don’t forget the connection between DeSousa and SZ’s boy toy Paul Bergshoeff. The Zailo’s had total access to any door for entry and exit! The end. The lock box was only for distraction at that house Lindsay was lured to! Lame cops, lame crown counsel, lame politicians. They all suck!

  21. micheal says:

sorry for all the comments tonight , but I finally see the dateline episode is back up on YouTube and I rewatched it after years.
does any one know the when the incident happen when Jason overheard lindasy talking to her friend , and it lead to friend running from house and Jason calling lindsay 30 times, im curious as to when this incidents relates to the burner phones being activated. before or after.

    • Sam says:

Hi Michael. Can you please share the link for the episode ?? Thanks

        • Robin says:

For me there is no talking available through this link. It’s totally scrambled. I bet the SPD have asked Dateline to make this not available to be watched with some BS excuse about an ongoing active investigation. (yah right) I watch old Dateline shows ALL the time and Lindsay’s story is the only one I have ever come across that has no audio avail on repeats. The only one!!!!

          • Svetlana says:

I am not sure why it’s like that for you. Is it on mute? Maybe it depends from which country you are viewing it? There are a few commentators that had similar issues. Someone mentioned to listen through headphones.

          • ConnectTheDots says:

Right again. They are trying their best to make this murder “investigation” go away.

            • Sam says:

The link worked for me. I had been looking everywhere for this episode and couldn’t find it, finally got to watch it so thanks for providing that link.

I thought I would for sure think JZ was guilty after watching the episode since everyone was saying his behaviour was so unusual… but did anyone see her ex boyfriends reaction ? He was balling yet no tears were coming out ? Also, does anyone know the reason Lindsay’s mum suspects her ex bf? ( we didn’t really get a proper answer from that episode) another thing… why did Lindsay call the police of her ex 3 times ???

          • Sam says:

On another note, I emailed NBC a while back to see if they could help me find the episode on their website and this is what they said:

“Unfortunately, our website and apps do not host all classic or older content for which we or a partner may hold rights, and NBC Digital Support doesn’t have any information regarding digital or physical copies or archives of shows or events that aren’t already readily available on the website or within our apps.”

Not everything is a conspiracy guys ….

            • Robin says:

In Lindsay’s murder there are way too many incidents that scream at anyone with a brain not to mention has been witness to dirty dealings of drug dealers and cops in their past. I have watched so many Dateline shows from Australia that are from 2000 and on… they have solved murders with zero evidence in the beginning but they are wrapped up in a year. It is many too and the constant theme is boyfriends who want to get rid of girlfriends. They get solved. It is nothing but bizarre that Lindsays murder remains unsolved, what are they waiting for to take down all corrupt cops too. Canadians are way to gullible or they don’t give a shit, not their problem til it’s their own. Get ready parents of the next generation is all I can say, it’s not going to be pretty.

        • Robin says:

Thanks for finding that Svetlana. It works perfect with headphones like many comments on YouTube said.
Probably good to keep posting it because it has been hard to get for quite awhile now. Thanks again.

      December 2007

  22. Micheal says:

if Jason was at 6:05 Pm telling police he was going to look for a way to get in, and the fence he boosted C.O. over is just steps away i’d say than means C.O. is opening front door for jason at 6:07 latest 6:08, Jason says he runs right upstairs and see lindsay body, What did he do for 3 to 4 to 5 minutes ? Just stand there and stare at the body? have one last quick look around make sure nothing was left behind?

  23. micheal says:

I think i just realized something very telling and something good police would have noticed too. But i have not seen it brought up so …
When Jason is explaining how he started to have an odd feeling he approached the door to find it locked, then calls police, while on the phone with police after finding the door locked he says he is going to look for a way to get / break in. Clearly he is no longer concerned with looking like an overbearing boyfriend if he plans to now do this, so therefore that excuse/response is off the table when we ask Jason……
Jason after finding the door locked and being so concerned why didn’t you knock on the door, ring bell, progress to banging loudly on said door, than decide to look for a way in? Who goes from finding a door locked to next call cops and break in? ( especially someone who just got done telling us how concerned they were with not coming across as a crazy overbearing boyfriend? The two thought processes are exact opposite and there is no time nor progression from polar opposite to the other. NO KNOCK, NO SHOUT OUT HER NAME?
OOO I know Jason, you forgot you were not supposed to already know at this point Lindsay is dead therefore there is no one to hear the knocks and come to the door!!! Even if Jason or anyone in his shoes was in an outright panic at this point, and was going to find a way to get/break in you would think you would take the 1.5 seconds to try pounding on the door real quick.
Now maybe im wrong and jason did say he tried to knock and or shout her name, but if he went from trying the door and finding it locked,to call cops and to break in, and did skip over knocking and pounding on the door its an admission he was aware there was no one inside capable of responding to the knock.
I sorry to Harp on this but think of how little sense the progression of his thought, emotion and behavior make. Put yourself in his shoes ( or what he claims his shoes are, really close your eyes and do this.
you go from literally moving your car parking spot cause you dont want to come across as overbearing, you get and odd feeling which now is fighting your current state of trying to not be overbearing, so you say ok im just going to go in. You get to door its locked and Call the freaking police? What if you wrong and everything is just fine inside, dont you think if you were just so worried about coming across as overbearing the next step at a locked door would be to knock, then knock loudly and shout her name? Jeez at least if you wrong here and everything is just fine on the inside you are going to look overbearing sure, but at least you didnt just call the freaking police in for you girlfriends customers to now have to deal with and really think your crazy.

    • OceanWaves says:

      Good point.

    • following says:

Some truth there. As a realtor, if I’m nervous I do bring someone. By no means do I want them to hide. I want them front and center so the newbie client sees them and knows they are watching. Thats standard protocol. You don’t bring someone to witness, you bring someone to prevent. That, in itself, is illogical. Alternately, if the person I brought suspected something suspicious, they would knock, pound, access key, call out, go around back, try and gain entrance. Then call police. They would also wonder where the clients car was and write down description of the car. More importantly, there is no embarrassment to having a partner at a showing. Been in real estate since 1989. Zero embarrassment to bring along a colleague. You WANT the client to very much know someone is there. That does not make sense to be covert

    • Svetlana says:

It was mentioned before about the calling police as soon as finding door closed, and he is obviously GUILTY in my and millions of other people’s eyes. Here we go again: COHEN O tell us what you really think. My heart tells me that you know something and you are covering for a murderer.

Does that Saanich branch even have homicide professionals in 2008?

      • lbmurder says:

“7” SEVEN senior officers of Saanich police retired the day before Lindsay was murdered. They retired Friday, Lindsay was murdered Saturday and replacement “senior” officers don’t work weekends. Therefore Svetlana the answer for sure would be no and none to this day or Lindsay’s murder would be solved right?

        • OceanWaves says:

Thank you. Will you please post the link to the article where all 7 Senior officers retired (retirement party? if such an article exists) the night before Lindsay’s murder and or list their (retired the night before) names for us here? I would like to do a little more research on those Senior officers that retired the night before. I appreciate it.

          • lbmurder says:

Do you want to do research or have somebody research for you? Try a thing called “Google”

            • OceanWaves says:

I have googled that and there is nothing that is popping up.
Realize that my google works differently because I am in the United States, so it’s not as effective brining up BC news as googling from within Canada. Regardless, here is something very interesting.
The Law in B.C. changed on January 1st 2008- just 30 days before this crew of 7 senior people voluntarily retired from Saanich PD.
According to this article, prior to that, there was forced retirement in B.C. for their employees.
              https://archive.news.gov.bc.ca/releases/news_releases_2005-2009/2007AG0043-001654.htm
So to me that makes the situation more suspicious. Why would 7 people, senior officers, choose to retire on that same night, the night before (Lindsay’s Murder), if they did not have to?
My hands are tied because I don’t even have the name of at least one of the individual officers that retired. If someone can provide me with one name (of the 7 that retired on February 1st, 2008) I would appreciate it and do not mind doing another google search. This is for Lindsay.

    • ConnectTheDots says:

      Good observation.

    • Robin says:

Wow you r correct, I never thought that through til you mention it. Excellent point and more incongruent behaviour from JaSIN.

    • MJG says:

MICHEAL: A very good point Micheal….as you mentioned….pounding on the door, calling out Lindsey’s name would be “the” normal reaction with an unknowing and innocent mind! Omitting that reaction, makes it look like he knew…and…what was expected to find in that house upon entry. Calling the police before any normal reaction is like a planned “alibi” ….good observation!

      • Dennis says:

Kicking down the door would have been the “normal” reaction from ANY bf who claims to love the one who was killed. At least had he been coached in that response he would have attracted less suspicion, but he still would have a suspect to us real detectives.

        • Svetlana says:

But instead he calls the police to tell them that he will break in. He was more concerned with that aspect.

  24. Micheal says:

Did Shirley and Ryan attend Lindsay’s funeral? I assume Jason did, but since that is just an assumption did he as well?

    • Svetlana says:

I think Shirley and Jason were but not sure about Ryan. I did read that Shirley made some throat gestures to the girls after the funeral so presumably she was there.

  25. Svetlana says:

Jason said on dateline that when he called police he told them that Lindsay was showing PEOPLE houses. How did he know there was more than one person? Wasn’t the last info he was supposed to have known was that ONE person was going to show up?

    • Micheal says:

no, supposedly Lindsay had texted him Saying , Got to go they are here, as the couple showed up for the showing. So if that is true than the last bit of info Jason had on the quanity of people showing would be info which told him it was more than 1 person. “they”
I think your reading to much into the plural , It sounds more like just a general statement of what she was in the act of doing, her job is to show people houses. As you can see he also pluralized “houses” when she was just showing a home, ( as far as Im aware she was just showing that one house that night).

Merry Christmas to all Lindsay supporters around the world who have remained steadfast in their determination to see Justice is served. Thank you for your support.

I would also like to send out a very special Merry Christmas to Saanich police, Saanich police Chief Scott Green, Mayor of Saanich Fred Haynes, The Saanich police board, Premier John Horgan, Minister of Public Safety Mike Farnworth and Attorney General David Eby. May the season bring you joy and cheer for you and your families. For those of you with daughters, I want you to remember how special Christmas Is with them. Hug them for me and think about how lucky you are to have them alive in front of you. Think of Lindsay Buziak my daughter. Think about what it would be like to have your daughter murdered and the Justice system of British Columbia, CANADA along with Saanich police do nothing about it for 13 years. What would you do?
    Merry Christmas.

Murder is allowed in Saanich, BC CANADA.

sorry i just leave my very random comments here an there as my thoughts come to me on this, just want to say, if that psychic is right on the video i sent u, that she was killed so shed never speak on her bf’s mother’s affair with the cop, this would explain why all the cops dont want this all looked into, and why her bf passed his lie detector supposely, he would when they’re all in on it, if its true.

    • MJG says:

      ANNA:
In my humble opinion and simple logical thinking….about what this psychic saw and said for Lindsey’s reading, pointing out seeing Sherley with a particular police officer in the action of love making….well, to me…it does not make any sense for them all to become involved, in executing such a well made plan of killing Lindsey… just for that infidelity?! They are not all that crazy enough! Gee, Sherley might be more than a “wild card” but was she that “wild” enough to go to that extreme of killing Lindsey for that?! Hell, …it had to be something much more amplified and dangerous to require Lindsey’s total silencing and that it should never, ever be leaked out whatever Lindsey saw or found out! All that planning, all those people involved, the phone calls from those burner phones, the gruesome way the killing occurred, this house in where the murder occurred. JUST FOR SHERLEY’S UNFAITHFULNESS? HELL NO!!! IT GOES DEEPER THAN THAT! Think about it!
Lindsey was very close to her loving father. She trusted him, she valued his judgment….She would have been comfortable enough to share (with him) whatever she knew or witnessed…. It just had to be something of grave importance that it prevented her (at that moment) from sharing it with him. I repeat, It had to be something quite serious and grave enough to stop her from sharing it with her own father, plus realizing that it could put him in immediate danger! Therefore, she decided to wait, put some distance and needed time to think it over carefully…and yet…she promised to share that information with her father but at a later date. As per Lindsey’s father, he once said Lindsey’s was a brave young woman and not easily frightened. Something seriously frightened her to the core back then and knowing that particular something, unfortunately cost her, her life! WHAT DID SHE ACCIDENTALLY SEE OR FOUND SO HARMFUL AND FORBIDDEN INFORMATION BACK THEN…WHAT DID SHE KNOW THAT COST HER, HER LIFE?! To me, that is the key to this mysterious unsolved case…and that this key should open up that big strong bolted door only to find all of those killer(s) involved in Lindsey’s gruesome murder! IT WILL BE OPENED ONE WAY OR ANOTHER….HAVE FAITH!

      • Wyatt says:

MJG…. couldn’t agree with you more. Myself? I keep returning to the real estate, money-laundering and drug gang connections to all these scandals. Not to mention the latest character from Parliament, Craig James and his criminal activity with tax payers money which Daryl Plecas exposed.
With the Cullen Commission hopefully comes full exposure to just who were the politicians involved, going back to Campbell & Crusty Clark is my belief.
If you take a moment to imagine that Lindsay stumbled upon this vast corrupt scandal (much like BC Rail) and her hesitation to confide in anyone at the time of her murder suggests to me she had some very incriminating information in relation to the Zailo’s, the SPD, Desousa and a long list of corrupt officials in a minimal role to very prominent/powerful politicians . I also believe she wasn’t aware of just how BIG this information was/is would be. We are suggesting some very serious criminal activity amongst some very high profile politicians and the heightened need for them to hide their involvement. I suspect she was securing her position to disassociate from this group of criminals and their connections in a timely manner to secure her safety and likely her families. I feel it in my bones that poor Lindsay never, ever thought anyone would hurt her little-on murder her. She was just too smart to have put herself in that level of danger…. knowingly. And with that remark, dare I say, the killer(s) were cunning, violent and sick MFers who only deserve the same outcome (or worse) in the end of their lives. Vengeance will be served one day.

        From an article 2019-06….

“One of the Tap House’s co-owners was James L. James, a step-son to the former clerk of the B.C. legislature, Craig James. See that young man, Dillon Brown, sitting at the bar? He doesn’t know it, but he’s going to be murdered in a few years, allegedly by Richard Ernest Alexander, president of the Devil’s Army Motorcycle Club in Campbell River, a Hells Angels puppet club.

Those three on the patio, well, two – Ali Ziaee and Zachary “Ziggy” Matheson – will shortly be busted for trafficking in cocaine and crystal meth. The police seized an estimated $542,000 in drugs.

Following a guilty plea, Ziaee received 30 months. Ziggy went to trial, was found guilty and sentenced to five years.

Ziaee’s father was reportedly convicted of money laundering in the United States some years before. Told the son sells cars now.

The big group that just came in? staff put a couple of tables together for them – “50-seats exactly” – bet they’re going to be talking about last night’s Dateline episode on NBC, the one about Lindsay Buziak’s murder in 2008.

A few in that group are persons of interest in the Buziak murder. Probably never made the international media before in their lives.

One of Lindsay’s co-workers at Re/Max Camosun – also a person of interest in the case – just walked in. Looks like she’ll be joining her reputed boyfriend back then, Ovidio Edgar Acevedo. He’s a mid-level drug dealer, bit of a hanger-on, though.

Wasn’t like that every night at the Tap House, some nights it seemed as though one crowd knew when to stay at home.

Case in point? The Canada Day long weekend in 2011.

“It’s 10:33 p.m. Saturday night in downtown Victoria and eight cops from the Integrated Gang Task Force and two Victoria police officers march single file into Monty’s Showroom Pub, wearing bulletproof vests and packing sidearms.

“The next stop is another strip club, the Fox in the Red Lion hotel, around 11 p.m. The convoy of unmarked vehicles heads out to Langford, stopping at the West Coast Tap House, which is surprisingly dead for a Saturday night.”

Government racks up $10,510 in credit card charges at the Tap House

Police have a term for what may have contributed to that “surprisingly dead” feel: ‘sixed.’

When patrons are tipped-off in advance, “it gives them the opportunity to run out the back or drop their guns and weapons and drugs on the floor,”

The task force suspect they got “sixed” at Monty’s, “meaning one of the bouncers saw the police gathering outside and ducked in the bar to warn patrons.”

They may have been ‘sixed’ at the Tap House too. Key players in both establishments go back to schoolyard days and remain close today.

What makes the Tap House so special among the four “hot spots” the Task Force visited that night?

It’s the only one that appears on the B.C. government’s credit card statements.

From 2008/09 to 2013/14, the government charged $10,510 at the establishment. In 2013/14, the Ministry of Finance charged more at the Tap House than it did at Victoria’s Union Club, albeit by about $20.

Some of the charges included meals, others were mostly meeting room rentals, which come with little or no extra expense for the owner.

The Tap House wasn’t just any establishment and soon the coincidences begin to pile up.

Consider: 45 establishments in the Langford area that could easily appear on the government’s credit card statements for comparable services.

Over seven fiscal years, a total of $14,676 was charged among the 45, of which $10,510 was at the Tap House.

What makes those charges stick out, even more, is when they stopped.

The first charge ($1,000) by the Energy, Mines and Resources ministry appears in the 2008/09 fiscal year. There were no charges in 2009/10, the balance of $9,510 was charged over the following four years.

One of the charges was for the Property Assessment Appeal Board. On August 22, 2013, the board signed a $280 contract, obtained through an access to information request about a meeting to be held the following month at the Tap House.

The day before signing that contract a headline reads: “Suspicious fire at Inferno Chophouse and Grill in Langford.”

        Tap House ties to legislature………

In late spring 2013, the Tap House had undergone a menu makeover and emerged as the Inferno Chophouse and Grill, even though contracts and payments were still processed under the former name.

The West Shore RCMP were also “called to the scene after a burglary alarm in the restaurant went off at the same time,” as was the Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA).

The Tap House was given a “high hazard” rating and was shut “for any public consumption of food or drink,” until VIHA determined otherwise. It didn’t reopen until November 4, 2013.

Only 16 days later – on November 20 – VIHA gave the establishment a “critical” rating for the “improper cleaning, sanitizing of equipment and utensils.”

You could forgive the government for not seeing some of the links between patrons at the Tap House and biker gangs to a point. Few did. There was some online chatter about it, but that was pretty well the extent of it.

However, all of that changed on July 10, 2011… “Task force tackles Island hot spots in search of gang members.” It set a demarcation line.

There were at least two possible approaches moving forward for public entities. The City of Langford took one and the B.C. government took another.

Langford had spent $4,652 at the Tap House over its first three years of operation.

For the provincial government on the other hand, it was business as usual.

The Tap House seems to have had some cheerleaders in government, right up until the point when there was a change in ownership and the credit card charges came to a screeching halt.

One of the Tap House’s co-owners was James L. James, a step-son to the former clerk of the B.C. legislature, Craig James.

The Tap House and the legislature shared many of the same suppliers.

Today, James L. James is a mortgage broker working for Jason Zailo’s Dominion Lending Centre franchise, an alternative lender.

Zailo had been Buziak’s boyfriend at the time of her murder.

Then there’s Buziak’s former co-worker from Re/Max, the one involved with the mid-level drug dealer. She quit Re/Max the day after the murder and has been described as a less than cooperative person-of-interest ever since.

She took a job in the finance ministry, as a corporate compliance clerk in the registration and certification division after the murder. The division’s responsibilities include lotteries and gaming integrity.

Later she became a program assistant in the ministry’s corporate information and records management office which has responsibility for the government’s access to information operations, privacy and government records service.

She no longer seems to work for the government and was unable to be located for comment. Her government email address and telephone numbers are no longer in service……would be easy to say this is about the sins of the father or the step-son, but it’s more than that.

Those pesky PEP (politically exposed person) designations may be a nuisance for some, particularly for those who are designated as such, but the intent is dead on.

B.C. needs to step up its game in this regard and apply more comprehensive disclosure rules not only for MLAs, but for senior public employees as well. After all, it’s 2019, and it’s the lack of adequate transparency that increases the vulnerability of public officials to outside influences.

Other provinces act quickly at the first hint of possible links between public bodies and organized as Quebec did this February it was reported that the spouse of Martine Gaudreault, vice-president real estate financing was suspected of having exactly that: ties with “people related to organized crime.”

The Caisse immediately suspended Gaudreault and launched “an internal investigation over the allegations.” The four month, $5 million investigation “involved 120 people, including a team of specialized lawyers, forensic accountants, criminal intelligence experts and other experts in economic intelligence specialized in money laundering issues.”

Caisse sacked Gaudreault and three other executives.

Former Liberal MP Raj Grewal was under RCMP investigation for months last year, after his gambling activities “triggered the disclosure requirements of the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC).”

Again action was swift. Grewal was removed from caucus and prevented from seeking re-election as a federal Liberal candidate.

There was a story recently in Business in Vancouver that included this line: “With B.C.’s economy partly supported by the proceeds of crime, the whole province could suffer financially if the B.C. government is successful at cutting the flow of dirty money into legitimate assets.”

        Let that sink in.

…. recent events at the legislature have focused more on the Speaker, Darryl Plecas, and his personality than the allegations of wrong-doing that he has brought forward.

When government credit cards are used at an establishment where bikers feel quite at home, we have a problem and part of the solution is in the answer to one simple question: does the B.C. government really know who it does business with?

        These are not isolated issues.”

It certainly is strange that she left her job immediately after her friend’s murder. It doesn’t mean she is guilty but probably she knew something. Hope the police questioned her thoroughly. In fact, I don’t think the police questioned anyone thoroughly.

          • lbmurder says:

Quite possibly she was in shock and feared for her life.

Excellent article. I believe that once Rianne knew Lindsay was dead she knew how bad the Zailo’s were. She likely had an awful gut instinct prior but to actually commit a murder is way beyond what a normal person expects. Rianne would then know what monsters she was working around and could never go back. I’d never go back either. If I ever ran into a Zailo anywhere to this day I’m sure I’d panic inside. Rianne just knew like she knows now. All people around that office at that time knew. I’ve heard it that from someone that was around at that time too. That person also knew. The happenings around that office at that time are very telling. The puzzle I suppose is WTF is Crown council doing to get going on this? Shirley there is enough to lay charges if Crown council is any good. Maybe they all retired the same day too and there isn’t any Crown council, I bet that’s the hold up.

To be honest, it is unnerving when an agent is brutally murdered and would trigger some people to get away from the atmosphere, immediately

          • ConnectTheDots says:

I believe that this aspect is very telling. Why would someone immediately quit their job after their friend is savagely murdered? The only reason for her to do that would be if she no longer felt safe working there. So unsafe that she felt she could not afford to give the usual two weeks notice. She had to feel that the danger that existed for Lindsay came from that office. That is the only reason someone would immediately cut all ties like that to their employer in the wake of their friends murder. This is just so obvious especially given all of the other circumstances of this murder. What else do the police need? A picture of one of the Zailo’s holding a knife to Lindsay? Oh wait, there is that very weird picture of Jason holding a knife to Lindsay at the restaurant. Who picks up a knife from the restaurant table and holds it across the front of their girlfriend like that when a picture is being taken? Shortly before she is murdered with a knife? Just one of the many bizarre aspects of this case.

            • Svetlana says:

That photo is very bothersome. I don’t like it. What was that all about? Who was it that took that photo? Did the guy next to Lindsay know something about it?

I was going to keep quiet on this but I have some insight on this as almost the exact thing happened to my step-sister. She worked a few months in a top real estate office and one day one of the realtors’ girlfriend came in hysterical saying his wife had put a hit on her. It got calmed down but my step-sister gathered her stuff and left that night and didn’t ever go back. She had noticed a few things that bothered her and didn’t feel it was worth it to stay. It isn’t that weird.

              • Svetlana says:

Not sure who is who in this. Is the realtor having an affair with someone?

              • ConnectTheDots says:

I would still say that it is weird and unusual behavior and the timing was no coincidence. I find it interesting that this is also within the real estate industry. Sounds to me that she too had noticed ” unethical dangerous” behavior within the office beyond the affair that her coworker was engaged in to have left suddenly in that way.

I couldn’t agree with you more. This was about believing Lindsay was “in the fold” groomed for marriage and a guard was let down. She saw piles of cash tied in and couldn’t get her head wrapped around it. I think it took her awhile to hatch a plan to sideways escape but they crew panicked and decided she needed to go. This was a time when mortgage money was easily obtained and title companies looked the other way.

          • Robin says:

YES… it was before the public realized how much money laundering, real estate and drugs had penetrated Victoria and Vancouver. Lindsay saw it all and was a threat to a bunch of effd up mthrfkrz who were deep into corruption at every turn. Lindsay was creeped out by the Zailo’s as any decent person would have been. It’s only the deeply tainted fks who can look at that corruption and think “I wanna play in the mud with these dirty pos”. Lindsay was a quality person and just wanted away from them. How sick are they for taking her life? Absolute bottom feeders in the gene pool. We can only fight to get Lindsay the JUSTICE she deserves now.

      • ConnectTheDots says:

I agree 100%. It was so big that she instantly knew the danger she was in. Something like money laundering and it’s connection to real estate. 30. Robin says:

I’ll tell ya there is just one incongruent action after another at the SPD. Aside from the complete ignoring behaviour from the Saanich Chief Scott Green I’d like to bring this to your attention. Scott Green is such a jerk, his lack of empathy and compassion towards Jeff and the public he works for is just in poor taste. He was obviously grandfathered into that position because he most definitely lacks the integrity it takes to be a decent Chief of Police let alone a decent human being. I’m appalled by his ineptness.
Check this out, I found this while looking around on the internet. I don’t know who wrote this but someone named Julie Fast from the SPD lied.

At numerous points since the death of Lindsay Buziak, the Saanich Police Department’s actions appear so bizarre as to make their investigation a mystery in itself.

On February 2, 2010, at the second “anniversary” press conference since Lindsay Buziak’s murder, hosted by the SPD, it’s announced that Lindsay’s family, together with the Greater Victoria Real Estate Board and the Canadian Real Estate Association, was putting up a reward of $100,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of her killer(s).

During the Q&A portion, Katie De Rosa, writer with the Victoria Times Colonist newspaper, asked the SPD spokesperson chairing the event:

“I have a question about the reward. At the beginning of the investigation there was talk of a reward and that was not followed through. So, why (is there) a reward now, and would there have been any difference made had there been a reward at the beginning of the investigation?”

    SPD Sgt. Julie Fast answered:

“I can’t look back in time and I can’t say if we had done this, (then) this would have happened. We’re at a place in the investigation now where from the investigative side this is where we are at. This is a family reward remember. This isn’t coming from the police department. We’re facilitating it, but this is their reward and they have chosen this time to come forward with it. And that is a decision that was made by them.”

Fast’s disavowal of the SPD having a hand in the timing of the reward, however, is contradicted by the truth of the matter. Shortly after the murder, a March 2008 news report quotes Art Reitmayer, Lindsay’s uncle, speaking on behalf of devastated mother, Evelyn Reitmayer: “The family has considered putting up a reward, but police have told them they have sufficient information and there’s no need, Reitmayer said.”

Jeff Buziak, Lindsay Buziak’s father, lives in Calgary, Alberta, and has been proactive and, often, public in calling for answers and more effective policing. Lindsay’s mother’s side of the family has maintained a much more private stance and their limited public comments have been, uniformly, supportive of the SPD.

Whether it shows a family reaction to the SPD’s misleading statements about the reward, or diligent follow-up by journalist De Rosa, is not made clear, still, an article appearing in the Times Colonist, (the day after other news stories emanating from the second “anniversary” press conference), reveals the truth. It quotes, once again, Lindsay’s uncle Art Reitmayer:

“Asked why it took two years to post a reward, Saanich police initially said Tuesday that it was the family’s decision, but yesterday spokeswoman Sgt. Julie Fast said the family was acting on the advice of investigators.

“We’ve been asking to put up a reward from the beginning [of the investigation],” Reitmayer said. Until now, police advised against it, he said, citing concerns they would be ‘overwhelmed’.”

When police tell the family of a murder victim that there’s “no need” for a reward to seek information on their daughter’s killer(s) until two years after the crime – when memories have faded, people and evidence farther removed – it’s a cause for tears.

Even sadder, it fits a pattern.

This is me now……I don’t know who wrote this but if shows total contradiction coming from the Saanich Police! Why?
Why would they say that did not need a reward as they had sufficient information and here we are almost 13 yrs later with no arrests!!!!! A reward would overwhelm the SPD????
WTF…. Julie Fast lied to the people! She lied!
Art Reitmayer was fed bs from the SPD and he has said NOTHING…. wtf… I don’t think he died at least I can’t see an obituary for him. Why didn’t he or why hasn’t he gone public with these questions and many others at this point,
Where the hell is spokesperson Art Reitmayer? It’s high time he did his part for Lindsay. WTF
I’m so pissed off with the lack of results in Lindsay’s murder investigation aren’t you Art Reitmayer? Can someone, anyone who knows him tell him to wake UP and rattle the powers that be, it was his 24 year old niece who was murdered!

    • ConnectTheDots says:

Wow. This is nutty. They clearly, when the idea of a reward was first brought up, did not have enough information to solve the case even though they said they did. Why would they lie to the family like that? And then when two years later they still have not used that information that they said they had to make arrests and can no longer justify being against a reward being offered they dance around the subject making it clear to the public that the reward was not their idea and has nothing to do with them. They make it clear that they are not supportive of or endorsing the reward. Why on Earth would they do that when they clearly do not have what it takes to make arrests themselves. And now, 11 years later it is even more obvious how nutty their original assertion was. I have never heard a police spokesperson distancing themselves from a reward being offered to try to bring justice to the families that the police have not been able to, for whatever reason, achieve themselves. You are right Robin. This whole aspect stinks.

    • Just a Canadian Citizen says:

Lately when I come onto this site to read updates I am more and more confused. I know there are people on here that live in BC and know more than most. I had never considered the Psychics reason for Lindsay being murdered. I don’t know why but I do believe SPD is covering up something. I do believe one day, hopefully sooner than later, Lindsay and her Family will get justice.

    • Darwin says:

The criminals in Saanich are more adaptive and organized than the police there. Complete anarchy. The Royal Mounted Canadian Police (RMCP) should secure one or more of the borders. No excuses for the authorities, but there appear to be too many ways to get in and out of Saanich. I just read and article about world wide drug cartels. Who knew that these (China (Michelle Lum?), Mexico (Beltrans), India, Bulgaria (!?) and Holland (Paul Bergshoeff??) ) were colluding together. One ingredient in Mexican crystal meth has to come from China. Again, who knew?! The year 2008-2010 saw many world wide cartels generating Transnational Crime to the extent that La Familia became the largest over Beltran Levy, Zetas, and Los Melinios (some of who were absorbed into La Familia). I remember reading somewhere (or was it on his facebook?) that Dennis Bergshoeff (Pauls- Shirley Zailos-boyfriends son) was in Vancouver before coming to Saanich but the age doesn’t match up as in he would have been only 13 or 14 when Lindsay was murdered?

Haven’t been able to determine if they were back for a visit in Jan/Feb of 2008, but if so it would be interesting, given her Caribbean accent which someone like Lindsay might have found strange and hard to pin down.

Forensics need to be done on SZ office transactions. See how many double ending transactions there are, how many higher value all cash deals, grouped deals, same title closing company. I think 3 or 4 months prior you have to look at access to the house, if it was not noticeable then it had to be from the builder. Its clearly real estate related. Don’t need to be a rocket scientist and random murders still have motives. This speaks of planned hit.

There is a new story that his wife was in and the link was posted on this site. Not sure if the search is working here.

Here she is. She won 200,000 portion of 1,000,000 lotto prize along with her other coworkers in a travel agency.

She was indirectly involved with this 2004 case and she was definitely involved in drugs from other documents found:
Quotes from the publicly available court documents and she lived about 5 blocks away from De Sousa Place:

The accused had a personal and social relationship with Ms. Lum, and he and Ms. Lum, according to Ms. Lum’s testimony at the trial, were “partners” in the trafficking of drugs and/or narcotics.

Ms. Lum was a witness at this trial. She testified that she and the accused were associated in the trafficking of illegal substances.

the residence of Michelle Suzanne Lum (“Lum”) for cocaine

As will be explained below, I believe that Arlen ORR is a mid-level drug dealer who purchases a kilogram of cocaine and ounces of heroin at a time and supplies cocaine and heroin to other drug dealers.

          – As will be explained below, I believe that Clare MUNN is Michelle LUM’S friend. I believe that MUNN assists LUM is selling drugs to LUM’S customers.Clare Marie MUNN (LUM’S roommate)

During this traffic stop, ORR advised Cst. MUSICCO that he was still living with his girlfriend, Michelle LUM, and that he had started his own clothing line called “KILLA”.

How does anyone have the right to stop a family from putting up a reward if they choose to do this? Their money not public funds. This whole case just is totally unbelievable. I must say that being as stubborn as I am would never listen to what the cops say, I would do what my heart tells me to do. In this case I don’t think any amount of family money would bring closure because I think there is alot of washed and drug money available. So so sad.

Since-as you said-Art does support SPD-it would be counter-productive for him to “report” anything on this blog. I am sure the maternal branch of Lindsay do all they can to try helping to uncover who murdered Lindsay

I’m so sorry for your loss. I hope answers come soon. I heard about this case on Crime Junkies.

Sir check the phone number who called lindsay for buying the home

    • ConnectTheDots says:

Good point. What has been said about that phone number?

    • Svetlana says:

The phone was checked. It was a burner phone bought in Vancouver under a fake name and address. On top of that, we recently found out that a different phone called in to the burner phone to check for messages (messages from Lindsay?). And the police have the name of the person who owns that 2nd phone. I can only guess that this person was interrogated if still in the country and alive.

I think the police know who it is. The problem is why didn’t they finish the case to solve it and make arrests?

I personally don’t think it has anything to do with that drug bust in Calgary as to why Lindsay was killed. Perhaps the conspirators got some help who were indeed drug dealers or criminals.

I have to admit, I have been having feelings of stupidity and arrogance and looking for others thoughts.
I have made several posts suggesting the police maybe incompetent and corrupt when it comes to this case, perhaps even protecting a guilty party.
I must admit a few days ago I was hit with a thought that I have been struggling with and hope I have not done harm by posting those thoughts I had about police possibly working to conceal the killer. I just realized perhaps there is a person or persons out their with information that could crack this case, yet if said person feels the police are corrupt and in on protecting someone, that person may be afriad now to come forward too police. Afraid the police are possibly protecting someone and if they come forward the police will pass word and this person coming forward may be in danger.
I would just like to hear others thoughts on this, have I and others done harm? have I contributed to possibly making someone afriad to come forward. Sure one could say that somone should have the character to come forward anyway, but that doesn’t change things for me.

    • ConnectTheDots says:

“yet if said person feels the police are corrupt and in on protecting someone, that person may be afraid now to come forward too police.”
I do think that is the situation but I don’t think they are hearing anything new to them from this website. I think they are afraid to come forward and have been from the get go. It was years into the investigation before anyone started thinking “What is going on with this case?” and posting such thoughts.

They can contact Jeff Buziak, Lindsay’s father, who will make sure the information is dealt with appropriately and anonymously if need be.

Michael, You’ve done NO harm. Competent Police check their feelings at the door and do the right thing regardless of the negative press. In fact, they’ll work even harder if there’s pressure. The SPD is incompetent and this case needs a fresh start with fresh competent involvement. SPD doesn’t give 2 zhits about this case.
